Intensive Learning
Without doubt the highest quality experience of photographic tuition comes from a one-to-one workshop.

I offer one-to-one tuition built around the particular requirements of each participant. Whether you need help with technical issues (such as metering or filtration) or want an in-depth portfolio review, the sessions will improve your vision and help take your photography to another level.
Prior to the workshop, I will take time to get a thorough understanding of your photographic needs. Each workshop is then uniquely tailored to the individual. The workshop is held on location (either near the participant’s home or elsewhere in the UK) and can vary in length from a single day to a week. You decide!
I’m happy to cater for all ability levels – from beginner to advanced – and all formats from DSLR to 5X4.

I also offer one-to-one online tuition, including photo critiques, tips on composition and comprehensive training in the use of Lightroom and Photoshop for creative landscape photography.

The 1 Online sessions typically last about 90 minutes. We use Zoom to share your screen. I will send you a link for the meeting and all you have to do is click.
You won't need to take notes as you will receive a recording for each session. This means you can later refer to the points I made and easily practice your editing techniques.
The cost is £75 per hour and most sessions last approx. 90 minutes.

A Case Study...
Kev Fidler, a long standing client, has been taking part in the 1 Online programme. The image opposite was made on a photo tour run by Lizzie Shepherd.
Kev had already done some post processing... as seen in the "Before" version.
It helps to start with a great image! But I felt that further improvements could be made, specifically to the localised colour balance. This gives the image greater apparent depth.
Guided by Kev, we talked through possible changes and arrived at the "After" version. I always try to make the best of an image according to the client's wishes.

Where "D" started and applied his particular expert's eye was in bringing the thing to life - some very useful ways of colour balancing and enhancing certain aspects.
